EGSC Catcards serve as library cards for EGSC students, faculty and staff. Other residents of Georgia may be eligible to be a Community Borrower by presenting a current, valid Georgia ID card or driver's license. Other forms of ID may be acceptable as well; please click here for the complete Community Borrower policy.
Most areas in the Library are open to the public. If you sign up to be a Community Borrower, you can check out most materials. Materials in the Heritage Center and the Reference collection do not circulate, but may be viewed in-house.
You can renew both EGSC Library books and books that you have ordered through GIL Express online by accessing your library account online. To renew books requested through interlibrary loan (ILL), please send a request to Bonnie Nash at email@example.com.
All library materials can be returned to the Circulation desk during any hours the library is open. An outside book drop is located across from the Luck Flanders Gambrell Center on College Circle for your convenience for the return of books and periodicals and for after hours returns. Please return media items to the Circulation desk.
Dual enrollment students on the Swainsboro campus can pick up and drop off their books at the EGSC library. All dual enrollment students must return their books in good condition, to receive books for the next semester, and to receive transcripts after graduation. Off-site students will receive emails at the beginning and end of each semester directing them times & places to pick-up and drop-off their books. Off-site students must receive/return the books in the given timeframe, or be solely responsible for picking up/returning said books. Please refer to the contract you sign at the beginning of each semester.
The library has a variety of materials available for loan to students, faculty, and staff. There are 5 laptops, 4 study rooms, graphic calculators, accounting calculators, study kits (pens, pencils, post-its, crayons, ruler, scissors, highlighers, white out, glue, and permanent marker), reserves, DVDs, board games, audiobooks, and more!
The library places holds on patron accounts for materials that are considered lost. This means the item(s) is overdue for an excessive amount of time. A hold may be removed if the item(s) is returned in good condition. Any other circumstances please contact our library associate to discuss the removal of your hold.
Answer: no! We do not sell textbooks, scantrons, pencils, or school supplies. We are happy to lend you study kits, calculators, and laptops for short periods of time for in-library use. We may also have a copy of your textbook that you may use in the library. However, if you are looking to purchase these items you will need to go to the bookstore.
The computers in the EGSC library use Go Print. Each student is provided a balance of 300 pages per semester. Additional pages may be purchased online or can be purchased on a "pay-as-you-print" basis for $.10 a page in the EGSC library. For more information on computers and printing, please see the Information Technology FAQs.
